Can someone track your phone location without your permission?

I think someone is tracking my phone. He sent me a google map location, and I clicked on it. He commented on what part of town I must live in. I’ve since turned location off.
Again??? You've been stalked for most of the past year now... maybe if he existed or had any ill intent, you'd have gone to the police or been dead by now???
@Prttylttlthng No proof??? The guy allegedly sent you a Google map location and commented on where you must live according to you.

i'm guessing that he found and contacted you through mental telepathy or something.
@Prttylttlthng That doesn't mean anything... could have been a lucky guess on his part. i've had similar happen to me on here.

i've also had people assume that i'm American, too.

@HootyTheNightOwl yes, exactly. That’s why I asked. I may be paranoid in this case.
They can track your phone if you’ve shared your location with them previously using the MAPS link on your phone.

All they need to do is reopen the map you’ve sent them. Also, Snapchat.

You may want to go into your setting and disable locations for all apps.

You cannot be guaranteed any privacy if you own a smartphone, the exception being Librem 5, which is designed to protect your privacy from the ground up but has some limitations due to it.

For example, even if you don't have a facebook account, you have a facebook account, whether you want it or not. All it takes is ANY of your contacts sharing their contact list with the facebook app for an entry for a lot of your details to enter their databases.

No. Not unless your unintentionally ok'd it.

Unless your dealing with some kind of crazy bastard.

99% of the population has nothing to worry about from actual hackers what would they want with you?
You should have some sort of device on your phone for disabling your location. Some government agencies can, though, whether that's turned on or off.

check all the permissions your apps have on your phone. consider revoking any app that has permissions to your location.. .especially if you dont recognize them

If you're using a device connected to someone else's account. They can track you and your activity
Prttylttlthng · 41-45, F
@Mamabear I am not connected to his account.

Can you share with me the link he sent to you, on which you clicked and he then told you about your location.
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
Legally it’s irrelevant, they are going to do it if it’s within their power

that's pretty scary!
That’s creepy
