Did you see the movie, "Get Out"?...if so, comments?

Personally, for all the accolades it received, I thought the film WAY overrated, while the male lead was good, I found the rest of the cast a bit banal and uninspired.

Kind of a racist version of the Stepford Wives. The protagonist is a group of thinly masked "Liberals" who manage to control black people via hypnosis.

The movie annoyed me for two reasons;

1.Anyone with an I.Q over 70 knows you cannot hypnotize an individual without informed consent. ( Let alone illicit untoward behaviors from the hypnotized person)

2.It's almost trendy these days to characterize liberals as "bleeding heart, snowflakes" who simply patronize black people for political or social gain. (Of course, there is an element of truth with a few liberal hypocrites, just as hypocritical conservatives who decry socialism whilst collecting Medicare/Medical,food stamps etc.)

Too many of us have forgotten it was liberals who risked their lives marching alongside blacks in Birmingham Alabama and other states. Too many have forgotten that it was liberals who stood against the Vietnam war, took great risks as American soldiers, innocent mothers and children were slaughtered in a war all historical scholars agree should NEVER have happened.

Not since the civil war has America ever been so divisive. Hatred in this country has become the rule rather than the exception and movies like this isn't helping and I'm damned SICK OF IT!

Get Out is not your average horror movie where the only focus is gore and scary scenes. Of course there are some gore and intense moments in this movie but It is a pretty good horror film that addresses social issues such as race. And that’s what I like about it.
Joseph 84 was the ONE true love of my life he passed away but I'll be seeing him again...aw, for the good old days, cracking each other up to the point of writing in convulsions on the floo5
