Affordable but meaningful Valentine’s Day gift ideas for my mom?

By affordable I mean completely inexpensive tbh because I’m broke college student lol. I just thought it’d be nice to surprise her with something especially since things aren’t really great with my dad

Take her on a date, if you can scrounge up enough money to go to a restaurant. Or, if you're living on campus, see if there's a room or area you can reserve and make dinner for her, perhaps with candles and a single rose in a vase on the table. Make it about her; ask her to tell you about herself: growing up, what were her aspirations? Who were her heroines and/or heroes? Fondest memories? Embarrassing moments? First love? First date? If there are things you've never known about your mom, ask her to tell you these things.

My mom never really talked about her life as a kid. She devoted herself to me and my three siblings while working full-time and dealing with a husband fighting his own demons and not being quite the partner she had longed to have. (That eventually changed, I'm glad to say.) So, during my college years, I took her to dinner once at a decent restaurant and asked her about her childhood. I learned a lot about her and grew closer as a result.

@otto78 This is a really good idea but we’re in different states at the moment. I’ll probably do that on her birthday.

Write her a poem. Hand written cards from our kids, no matter their age, mean so much

Flowers, even if you gotta pick them yourself. Lol.

Just buy her 1 red rose

Flowers, picked off a grave, if you must.
Clean her house, take her to dinner, take care of some of the "honey do" list.
Make her a card, from your heart, with special memories of her. Get her one of her favorite flower.

what things does she like?
rickfreeman15 · 22-25, M
@maturedragon working with children, she’s a teacher and tbh that’s her main “hobby”

@rickfreeman15 then I think something that you create yourself would be best like a sketch, poem or art's and craft sort of thing

You can Photo-Transfer-Glass ?

Buy an inexpensive glass vase (you can buy them at a thrift store) print out a picture that you think she would like and modge podge it onto the vase.

Honestly, it does not take a lot of money to make a meaningful gift that she will always treasure. If it's from you, she will love it.
