Dad just bought two 20 dollar lottery tickts & won nothing

It's not my money but i'm still shaking my head about it. Lol!! What a waste.

That could've been mine

So you're not a gambler and neither am I. And when I go to convenient stores and gas stations and see people buying the tickets, it's always someone old. No one i know buys them. So, is there like a changing attitude with lotteries and gambling? Is our generation going to reject the concept?

@AcidBurn Wow. I literally know no one who buys tickets on a regular basis. I did once for a Yankee Swap gift.
@sarabee1995 I personally don't either. But being at the point of sale I saw the usual people, a lot of which came in on a daily basis for lottery. A side effect of this generation being handed whatever they want is that they never learn to value anything. I'd ask them if they'd ever won anything. Most would say no, or a hundred bucks or something. Some said they don't even play with the hope of winning. It was fun and cheap... of course it's only cheap if you don't look at the big picture. Five bucks a week does add up.
That being said, I dont think this generation, or any other, shows a lack of intelligence by playing the lottery. Like anything else in life, it's fine in moderation.

@AcidBurn You're right (of course) ... It's just that for me, money is too hard to come by to spend it on gambling. But then I'll go spend money on other things (adventures, adrenaline rushes) that someone else would consider a waste of money.

@SailorMarz So what do you think of Billy Bob Thornton & Would You Do Him
Madhatter · 31-35, M
That's gambling for ya. When it works, it's awesome. If only it worked more than once in a blue moon.
SailorMarz · F
@Madhatter I never liked gambling lol i seem to be the only one in this family who feels this way about it.
Madhatter · 31-35, M
@SailorMarz lol Good. It's best never to start or you'll end up wasting money like them. :p My folks were the same way. They'd celebrate the $500 they'd win, and I'd remind them of the $1,000 they spent to get it.

@Madhatter exactly!! But i get why they're into gambling more than ever at the moment. Our neighbor won 1,000 for life twice last year. Lol

If you gamble only what you have you can’t go too wrong. That’s my philosophy anyway.
