Why is it so hard to get a job?

The only things I don't want to do our run a cash register wait tables wash dishes or work at a fast food restaurant cooking the food other than that I will do pretty much whatever job is out there that you don't need a college degree for.

I have applied for eight or nine jobs and got nothing so far

I have actually applied to UPS as a package handler which requires sorting stuff at their Center to come off of trucks that bring them there to UPS and put them on the delivery trucks. I have an interview for that on Wednesday tomorrow.

I also applied to UPS for the driver helper assistant which would have me going in the truck with a driver and helping them deliver packages I have an interview for that on Friday.

And I have applied for a car wash bay job at a Toyota dealership

Take a job you don't like get some work history and keep applying to jobs you want. When I interview a job prospect and they have large time gaps in their employment history that they excuse by saying they wouldn't take menial jobs they didn't like I believe they will be a poor fit. No matter what our title position or pay we all have to be willing to do things we don't like to do
