So I have a theory, that many of you might dislike but have you ever felt like somebody is the love of your life but for some reason

you two got separated and you really don't wanna be with anyone but that person? And, have you ever been so hungry that you'd eat something that you normally wouldn't? Like, say you normally wouldn't eat apples, because you hate how they taste, when you have abundance in food, you wouldn't eat them, but when you're starving you would, wouldn't you? And the apple would taste delicious to you at that moment, probably. The flavor of the apple didn't change, it was your perception that did, so isn't it the same with people? What if you really like someone that doesn't like you but there's a slight opportunity that you could get back together with that person, and there's no one else quite as good looking that wants to be with you, if you had a lot of equally or more attractive people to choose from, that actually want to be with you, would you still go for that other person?

I think our lives have more than one soulmate and that we love each and every one of them in different ways and for different reasons.

That's actually a really good way to look at it, and probably applies to many of those ex situations. At the same time, at what point have you lowered your standards to the point that it's no longer a good thing?

@VolpeTredici That's a good question, I suppose it depends on the specific individual, but I guess when there's some sort of regret or unhappiness in you, when you don't really wanna be with someone but "that's all you can get at the moment" or at least that's what you think.

If you love them but it can't happen, date other people. If you still love them, then have a one-night stand and get them out of your system. If even after that you're still infatuated, then lock them in your basement.
