Do you view guns as a tool or a death machine?

The question should be are we mentally adjusted enough too own a fire arm,the handgun/rifle/assault rifle are just a piece of steel or polycarbonate plastics, they do not harm n cause no pain until the human picks one up,then they become a weapon, because the human has the intention to use it as one, hence the quandary,I personally own several firearms,3 handguns 2 shotgun 3 assault rifles 1long rifle,n collectively 23,000 rounds of ammunition,am I a potential killer ? Well my government trained me as one n the army rangers honed my particular skills

I view guns as devices that were designed with a single purpose - to kill. That for me is where the conversation begins.

Both. They can be a useful tool when used as such and death machines when used as one. That’s the problem. Similar to drugs. Great when you need them, nightmares when abused

@AwesomeMcAwesome Actually drugs can be used constructively, guns can only be used to kill or intimidate, so i wouldn't compare the two. You can argue that some things and people need killing and to be intimidated, but that doesn't make the gun less of a killing machine it just makes morality realistically gray.

@kayoshin guns are also used for sport as well. Pure tool at that point. But I would agree it’s more of a killing machine than a tool.

A tool for death. They have no use outside of death and intimidation. They can be used in a positive way (mostly by not using them) but they are still only designed to do one thing.

they are tools,, I own 3
BUT you can kill someone with a ball peen hammer as well
so your question is meaningless
