Did anyone read the story about that man who got dared to eat a slug and he got lung worm 🤮😩 JESUS

I did my MSc on this. Snails and slugs are intermediate carriers for the rat lungworm. Technically they carry the 3rd stage larvae which is the infective stage of the worm. Once in the blood stream, these migrate to the brain where they mature and die causing an inflammation of the meninges. Not a pleasant thing to have. I can’t imagine what would possess someone to consume such a ghastly organism like a slug. Reckless and stupid behaviour.

I heard about the one that got a brain disease and ended up in wheelchair.....

Talk about bad luck. You know the disease comes from rat shit, so that slug ate rat shit? Not all of them have that disease. Poor kid.
