Your opinion on the conversation between Abraham Pais and Einstein?

The question itself, does the moon exist only when you look at it, challenges the quantum theory in respect to the fact that quantum mechanical things lack objective properties. Momentum, for example.
The famous Erwin's cat paradox is a similar example.
My opinion, after researching for a couple of months, is this.
Although the moon isn't there when nobody is looking, it acts as if it is.
Again, Einstein didn't have any proof, it was simply his belief. Science doesn't give us a complete scope of objective reality.

They're basically just getting into the whole concept of data abstraction and the lack of fundamental truth to science, something that has gotten increasing interest lately too because abstraction is a fundamental part of computer programming and there are increasing numbers of programmers around.
@UndeadPrivateer I didn't know about the relation between those two. It's interesting you say that. I've seen this theory being tossed around lately. I felt the need to fully understand it, till I realized there was no definite answer.
@BlastEndedSkrewt There isn't, really. The best you can do is try to remain non-dogmatic about things. It's a rabbithole without end. It's really fascinating to study but boy is it complicated and mind-warping.
I think what Einstein was saying is that as scientists you have got to be ready to change the way you think about things if the science leads you in a different direction.
It's interesting how this actually start with 'do you believe'. I suppose it's often the basis for science. What did they mean with "isn't there"?
@Jackaloftheazuresand if it weren't for the discovery of the basic mechanics, we wouldn't have advanced in things like technology. So I don't think having an open discussion should be discouraged. I'm just curious.
