Do you ever feel like you don't have enough experiences to be a proper adult person?

@BeautifulSinner Thank you... I don't want to sound like a presumptuous ignorant person but I reckon that the kind of conditions you are talking about does make young-adults out of small kids. Do you ever feel like your childhood had to suffer because of the circumstances you grew up in? I personally think that we over-romanticize childhood. Sure, there are things that affect us more severely as child than adults but children do cope well with some pretty shitty situations than adults because as adults we develop the language and the concepts regarding what's fair and unfair.

@blasphemy666 Oh no I still had childhood. I made many great friends in my life and I met the greatest teachers ever because of the circumstances I grew up in. I didn’t have the things I wanted to have, nice clothes, the latest technology. Stupid shit like that. I was taught so many lessons as a child because of my situation. I don’t care if other people think I didn’t have a childhood because I had the time of my life! The only difference was that I had to accept reality a lot faster and sooner than most.

@BeautifulSinner It feels really good to hear that. I think we ought to move on from our image of what an "ideal" childhood is...which to be honest, is built by western elites who consider any experience other than this glittery, bubbly image of children as a traumatic childhood.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I can understand that. I don't connect with the people of my age and I feel like a granny who complains about "kids these days".

But at the same time I think I don't know a lot of things and just don't have a lot of "content" an adult might have.
