@Dayman It's really as easy as that. They may notice, and if they do, there is nothing forcing you to respond if they vocalize anything about you unfriending them. If you don't want to hurt their feelings, and they try to communicate with you about it, you can simply say I'm cutting my friend list down as it's too much to pay attention to, sorry. (That, especially, applies if the person was not a once close friend). I'm so off Facebook, I can not comment anymore than that.
