I want to know

Why is moly holy?
I'm commenting years later I know, but I just visited your profile and have been reading your posts and came upon this.

I think that it may have come from the old expression " Holy Mary, mother of Christ!" as a form of an exclamation and later shortened and changed to not offend religious people to, " Holy Moley....". Just my guess😊

Holy Moly ? olde English. A term used to describe somebody dedicated to religious purpose - Oxford English Dictionary.

Moly - Greek Mythology. :a herb said to give those who ate it super-human powers.
First seen in literature form in the old Captain Marvel comics of the 1940's ! Used as a form of aliteration. eg: Good grief/ Rugged rock/ super star etc

Because belief in God and heaven is akin to making a mountain out of a mole hill. Okay, I made that up.
