Is it only just me that prefers traditional American luxury cars over current European luxury cars?
Well it seems that the traditional American way of automobile luxury has died out......
Nowadays luxury American cars are just attempting to replicate the success of European luxury automobiles.....

Where are the true American luxury automobiles that dominated the 1960s and 1970s? The bench-seated V-12 full-size land yachts with grandiose chrome embellishments and upright styling?

If I had the money, compared to the modern S-Classes and 7 Series, I'd get one of the classic American luxury cars instead and refurbish them. In fact my favorite car are the 1950s Cadillac Series 70 Brougham limosines:
Well here's the problem the styling of the cars had to change otherwise you run into the problem that Harley Davidson is having now with attracting the younger generation to the brand while I fully agree with you that a 67 Cadillac looks so much cooler than the latest and greatest rolling off the assembly line today it does look too European. The chrome the white walls the big over stuffed leather seats all that seems to have gone by the wayside to appeal to the younger generations that do not know what the classics are about. The other side is fuel efficiency which the government regulations have destroyed the American automotive industry every vehicle manufacturer has to have a limit on how low you can get your average fuel efficiency for all models in the line up.
I love my ex rental 2015 Ford Focus so I'm not against American cars but there is something about the American Luxury car brands that I dont like. I might be something stupid like the brand names. Lincoln, Cadillac, Buick. There's a neghborhood near me called Lexington Park and there's something about that name too.
Also the old ones are to long and square and chrome for me.
@ashrock1990 That's your opinion, but many of us, while appreciating european cars, don't share it. I doubt ANY cars are easy to service any longer, and GM and Ford can match quality with any manufacturer.
I like your style, tupolevtu144! Styling as you suggest, died with Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell at GM, Virgil Exner at Chrysler, and Raymond Lowey (I probably misspelled names). All such styling ended in the early '60s. I believe it's unlikely to return, because or "safety" regulations. Pity.

.I think part of the problem are the efficiency requirements. which isn't to say that I'm against efficiency, it's just that the world has changed.
