Do you aspire to own your own home?

Personally I don't like the thought of being saddled with more debt than I can even imagine, I'd be happy to rent and move occasionally to other places to experience difference areas.

hi Chrisy1
Yours would be a good plan except housing does not work like that. It should work like that and maybe there will be social changes to make it like that. However housing is a marketplace like wages or salaries. Each changes relative to the other making housing more or less affordable. People buy to benefit from house price rises themselves and to avoid rising rents,
There are strategies you can adopt to buy a house cheaply such as buying a run and renovating it yourself.
Unfortunately both renting or buying has costs. However if property prices rise many people earn more from that than they earn through work. You have to take the long view but then you are tied to a locality also.
Best wishes

Thanks :) Prices are quite sporadic these days, some areas have hardly seen any rises at all in the last 10 years. Renting offers flexibility and yes you don't get to own it, but so what, with the changes in social welfare, the state will just take it back off you in the end should you require old aged care! @sogdianrock

hi Chrisy1
Sure do as you wish and good luck!
There is a theory of class based on age. The theory goes along the lines that society is controlled by the old and the young are exploited to serve the interests of the old. I think it is quite compelling although of course class based on economic wealth itself is also a powerful social force.
You are right to seek happiness as the powerful will deny it you for their own benefit in an endless series of tricks!
Best wishes

I live on a rental house, that's good for me since I'm not still sure if I'm going to stay in this country or leave when I end my studies. Of course I'l like to won my own place someday, but I know that it's going to meant less freedom. And right now, freedom is the best thing I could wish after so many years of total lack of it.
