Montgomery at Alemain [I Love History]

This is the anniversary of the second last day of the battle of El Alemain, when the Ulsterman, General Montgomery, led the Commonwealth Army to defeat the Germans and Italians in battle in North Africa. It was one of the decisive battles of the land war and marked the furthest advance of the Axis troops in Africa. After Alemain they were fighting on the defensive, apart from counter attacks.
