I Love My In Laws

It's so nice to have people that I honestly feel like family with, beyond just the in law kind of way. We spent the last two days with them and leave tomorrow. But wish we could stay much longer. Luckily we're only a few hours away.

His father is doing hospice care now from his heart failure, and for the last two weeks we were so worried. He had gone so downhill, the doctor himself gave him maybe a month. Couldn't walk or breathe properly, or get out of bed. Hubby's mother was asking for prayer and for her to ask for prayer is a sign something is very unwell because she's the one everyone else goes to for prayer requests because she's just so strong in her faith. But prayer worked and his doctor says he had no idea how but the swelling is gone and he was on his feet like almost nothing happened after a couple of days.

So as soon as the roads were cleared from the slush and ice on the passes we headed out. Spent days joking about and having fun. Even did geology work with mom in law once hubby mentioned I was working on a family tree. Apparently a few of their relatives didn't entirely cut ties with them after their excommunication and one works at their local mormon centers and another at the big mormon geology center in Salt Lake. Shi they helped get trace some lineage on her side and some of it leads back to the area in Pennsylvania my family's side lived in.

Unfortunately, a good bit of the day was also discussing their aging, his dad health and some of the after death plans. They've given us so many things in anticipation of the worst. It's touching but so sad to think we're at the place where we have to discuss wills and do not resuscitate orders.

I hope I have the strength for dealing with things when they're gone.
I wondered what happened to you. I saw a bit of Pinterest and that was it.
Sorry to hear about the health challenges of your Father-in-Law but glad to hear the swelling went down.
