Is Nier Automata on steam the online game?

I don't really know how steam works, but I'm interested in playing this game (like super interested, and I don't own a PS4). I'm not interested in playing with others (I'm more of a single player kind of person unless it's games such as smash, mario kart, etc.).

I was listening to the soundtrack on youtube (which by the way is beautiful), and I noticed this one comment saying, "Thanks to all those who gave up their save files." What's this all about? Why are people giving up their save files?

Thank you, I will!

And I don't think Nier Automata will ever be given out for free (if it does somewhere, it's probably a scam). /:

@BlackBloodDemon: I mean't in the monthly bundle on there. They give about $100+ of games/month for $12. This coming month's main game is Dark Souls 2.

@Teirdalin: LOL I no longer have a job. I can't buy anymore games for a long time. :(

Unless I go to the flea market and find some really good deals (I found Majora's Mask for the N64 in good condition for like $20 at the flea market, but of course I had to be $5 short).
It's a single player game it just connects online to show you where other players have died. Which you can use to your benefit if you desire

@TwilitSona: Why would I use it for my benefit if those people worked hard to get that far into the game?
