I've really wanted to play some MMORPG's lately...

But all the MMORPG's I can think of are either awful, have few other players, or are just horribly P2W...

I've seriously considered buying FFXIV: A Realm Unborn as it's supposed to be a really good MMORPG, but it's subscription-based and I don't want to buy it just to go through the hassle of monthly subscriptions... 😩

The worst part of MMORPGs is when its reaches popularity then you get a bunch of "farmers" on the server and thats super annoying

If you like Star Wars, then try SWTOR ;)

Depending on what you like I'd suggest World of Warcarft for fantasy, Eve Online for sci-fi ship combat and Star Wars: The Old Republic for some sci-fi star wars action. I've spent more than a few years in all of them and wouldnt trade that time for anything else. :)

IMO there isn't even anything out that's particularly engaging. The player's experience in any of them is generally the same. Just different window dressings.

FFXIV is well worth the subscription. Plus its getting its next expansion next month. Been playing non stop for 2 years.

I like Rift, you can play it without it being P2W, and there's plenty of other players.

Yeah, MMO's are a real investment. They become a part of your life, so if you really want to play one, just play free trials and find a favorite among them... if it's worth the monthly subscription, choose it and it'll be a part of your life

I always think about playing MMORPG's because I used to play them when I was younger, but whenever I do I just want to play by myself... I'm too anti-social for MMO's...

Have you tried World of Warcraft, WoW?

@Raythedevil: Yeah, WoW I subscription too, but it's fairly cheap. It's a good game though...I need to play more often, been on a break for a while now.

I'm just searching for the perfect single player experience, multiplayer has become such a.. impersonal experience that its boring. single player is solid.
