Bethesda & Fallout 4

Bethesda, 2015: *Releases Fallout 4*

majority of Fans: "Well, it's definitely not Game Of The Year, and its riddled with issues, but the core game is actually quite fun, so yeah...Could be worse."

Bethesda:
>Releases Mixed bag of DLC that players are still conflicted on
>releases 'Game of the year' Fallout 4 digital bundle, even though GOTY in 2015 was Witcher 3...Bethesda , seriously, WTF?
> adds Creation Club with its 'paid mods' and an in-game currency.

Fallout 4 was great... right up until you saw through the glamour and shiny bits. Then it was mediocre at best, and a timesink. 76 is Fallout 4 lite.

@HeWhoLaughs The dialogue system was: yes, sarcastic yes, rude yes, no (until you said yes later). In 3 you felt like you were a part of the world, and opening the vault the first time was incredible. New Vegas you were on a mission which you learned later wasn't so black and white. In 4 you had four factions that had no impact until the endgame. Even then, the "evil" institute was just a scapegoat for the failed government.

@raysam363 BUUUT one thing you cant deny is that in the very end of the main quest , Shaun was written well, right at the end, I honestly got hit with the feels when if you defy the Institute, he just hits you with that whole "how could you do this to me...i thought i could trust you, apparently not, this is your doing." spiel he says, his final few moments you interact with him clearly showed a different Fallout 4, one that could have felt more impact full. also, Nick Valentine is just plain awesome, i love dressing up as the Shroud , or any old coat, getting a detectivey hat and a revolver, and rocking around with nick like some kinda grizzled dectective duo, takin down scum

@HeWhoLaughs I honestly felt nothing towards Shaun, either joining or betraying. I guess after the slog, it felt empty. Maybe if they spent time on the story, I would have cared a bit more. At that point I just decided to see how much I could abuse the game systems.

Fallout 4 is a great shooter, not so much an rpg. I still had fun with it. The witcher 3 is a good rpg but the combat sucked and the controls were over complicated. Bethesda got greedy with fallout 76 and got burned. New elder scrolls better blow people’s minds because cyberpunk is coming and it looks really promising
They better not screw up the next ES game.

@Native I dont think they will fail as bad as 76 , or even 4, mainly because Bethesda has only made 3 mainline fallout games, 3, 4 and 76, and none of them were perfect, whereas they have made countless Elder Scrolls games, and by now should damn well know what fans want

@Native I'll keep my hopes low. Skyrim was fun at first, but without mods it was boring. Oblivion was incredible and accessible.
