In Defense Of Green Smoothies...

Really, don't knock 'em 'till you've tried 'em! I make one of these almost every day, with all natural ingredients. Here's my recipe:
- Put all these in your blender first:
* Freshly peeled banana
* Freshly peeled orange
* Medium sized tomato
- Now start blending on low speed and add:
* Freshly cored apple or two if they're small ones
* 2 or 3 large handfuls of freshly washed leafy green spinach
* Some protein powder if desired
* A large scoop of flax seed powder
- Now stop mixing and add:
* A handful of frozen Three Berry mix (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
* A handful of Tropical Fruit Festival mix (mango papaya pineapple strawberry)
- Push the frozen stuff down into the mix and cover well
- Blend at low speed until the frozen stuff is all mixed in
- Gradually increase blending speed to the highest level for 30 seconds
- Enjoy!!!

The raw fruits and greens you can get anywhere and the frozen stuff and powders are available at Costco. It's great since it saves me from having to add 3 kinds of fruit and 3 kinds of berries and gives it a great texture.

While you're drinking your fortified smoothie, think about all the raw fresh ingredients you're treating your body to. You're literally having a large salad without the dressing and a shake without anything artificial, with all the vitamins intact because you haven't boiled them out. And all of it was in a raw natural form a minute before. Really, if you haven't tried one of these, you should, then let me know how you liked it!
