Back home, the colored wax we use for our lips, we also use for our nails, and it stays longer on nails, to be honest. It's also hard to have more than one hue at one time because storage space reasons, so the beauticians typically make only a few different hues, and red is the most commonly used/bought and also easiest to make since the dye source is plentiful. Oh, if you want pink, import/export; white dye pigment is very hard to come by (locally) and red+white == pink.
