How do I unlink a g-mail account?

I've never really used g-mail.
Only time was when I was in school and set up a club email.
Now that I have a new phone and am trying to get in my google play, it's pulling up that school email, how do I get that off? I don't want to school the school clubs email.....

the email seems to be connected to my phone number...it's annoying. I'm not trying to use that e-mail.
