If your cell phone is POWERED OFF, does it notify you that you have missed calls and voice messages WHEN you POWER IT BACK ON?

Sorry for the caps but I want to be clear.
I have my phone powered off at work to save battery, since I cant use it anyway.
I have missed YET ANOTHER interview because of this.

I want to know if this is normal, or is my phone broken...when the phone is powered on, I get missed call notifications and voicemeail notification. The issue is turning it on after it has been off. I will not know anyone called or left a message upon turning the phone back on.

I think voicemails show up but not missed calls

Not all of the missed notifications will come through when you turn it on. But text and voicemail should. Voicemail will generally need some kind of live voicemail app.

@Sicarium live voicemail app? what do you mean?

@iamnikki They're also called visual voicemail apps. They let you listen to them in any order. But they also monitor your voicemail box without you having to call in manually.

If you already have one and are on android, you clear the app's cache to reset it. If you're on iphone, pretty sure you have to reset the iphone. But I could be wrong on that.

When you switch it back on, it WILL notify you of missed calls, voice mails and texts.

If this is not happening, take it to your carrier store, and have them look at it.
When I turn mine back on it takes it a little bit, but it will show missed calls and texts
