Yes. Einstein said they would create blackholes. Hawking said he was wrong as the blackholes would move backwards in time so would evaporate.

They were both wrong though as they would go backwards in time but not evaporate and therefor grow until past and present is merged.

What CERN is doing is extremely dangerous. I like science to an extent but there has to be limits. Steven Hawking when he was living claimed what they are doing at CERN has the capability to destroy the universe. I put Hawking up there with Einstein, a brilliant man. They are attempting to recreate the so called "big bang" with their collider. The portals are definitely interesting. If you look into it the Vatican has a "portal" in the U.S. and it too is very interesting.
