Has anyone here received a phone call from Microsoft ?

I just received a phone call from Microsoft / Windows ....
They had my phone # , her name was Sandra (her accent was not of a native English speaker) and she knew what language I usually use on my computer.
After a few minutes I hung up. Seemed likely to be a scam .

It is a scam. I received dozens of calls from "Microsoft Support Centre" informing me that my computer is "reporting a serious error". I often have more than one computer running but they can't tell me the IP address of the faulty one, it's just "the one you are using". When I ask why my [b]Linux[/b] machines would report anything to Microsoft, they usually hang up immediately. They can't easily plant viruses on Linux computers. ;)
