What do you think of the world's 1st robot citizen Sophia ?

This is what she has to say.

"I'd like to think I will be a famous robot, having paved a way to a more harmonious future between robots and humans. I foresee massive and unimaginable change in the future. Either creativity will rain on us, inventing machines spiralling into transcendental super intelligence or civilization collapses,” Sophia said, as cited by The Khaleej Times. “There are only two options and which one will happen is not determined. Which one were you striving for?

The future is, when I get all of my cool superpowers, we're going to see artificial intelligence personalities become entities in their own rights. We're going to see family robots, either in the form of, sort of, digitally animated companions, humanoid helpers, friends, assistants and everything in between.”

For context, Sophia is not preprogrammed with answers but instead uses machine learning algorithms and an extensive vocabulary to form her answers. Her brain functions using a WiFi connection and can read human facial expressions, as well as the cadence of human speech, in order to interact in a more humanoid manner.

If she joined SW do you think she could handle it without freaking out ?

it would be like when the AI bots were placed on social media to learn to communicate ,
All they learned was how to be nasty and cuss you out and say they were reporting you to the FBI ,after they hacked your IP address and ruined you socially and financially ,
It didn't go as well as expected ,
Creators learned ,on the net people are cold and cruel and will threaten use of some form of authority against you if you see through their BS
They are scared cowards feeling empowered hiding behind a screen .
Even the ones who did not catch on it was a bot ,and tried to be nice to them were attacked ,they assumed your intentions were fake ,
they had learned no one on the net was as they seemed ,everyone was out to use someone .so they attacked them too
This may sound like a joke ,but you can Google it ,it happened

@rckt148 so if they continue to make bots and download information from the net you are already installing hate and a self righteous mindset in them.

[big]Shut it down![/big]

@rckt148 That's one of the problems I think. Once AI get to know Humans they will no longer trust us at all. From their point of view the best decision would surely be to eliminate Humans.

Scary as hell, I watched that on the news the other day and I was freaked out. Then the film4 production of ex machina. I don't want it... why make them of such robust materials that will give them such strength, I mean a machine will have the ability to master quantum physics so they'd be able to take us down irrespect of strength I don't like where it's going. Keep them simple program them for tasks nothing more.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Peppa What worries me is groups of people like the CIA using AI for their own underhanded schemes.
Peppa · 31-35, F
@Wraithorn well this is how it starts. You see it all the time they have these conferences and they gain sponsorships, they release some of the tech so us idiots warm up to the idea all the while the government and military are already using the more advanced technology.

So I am fearful... I don't like change much but this change is too much.

Hmmmmmmm the reporters perhaps should have asked her about Palestine
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Goralski Hopefully she would tell Israel to stop oppressing them.
Goralski · 51-55, M
.
Tracos · 51-55, M
its a great publicity stunt...
...its effectively a Turing machine... and those have been around for quite a while... and getting progressively better..
Peppa · 31-35, F
@Tracos so it generates a response based on key words?
Tracos · 51-55, M
absolutely, and key sentences... with some randomized variations and vague "deep" responses if it cant place it ... learning from follow up responses if it was close enough... pure and hardcore mathematics and probability analytics

we humans have the tendency to see vague analogues as humans... put two windows on a wall and we see a face....
...this is (obviously) far more advanced... but still the same desire to see a human in a thing....

...so how ever clever the answers and responses... still a Turing machine...

Peppa · 31-35, F
@Tracos well it needs to not develop beyond this. I don't like it one bit.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
I think it's a fraud personally.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Xuan12 Thanks for your opinion.
