Why are there so many mean people on here now ?

Back when it was EP and when Similar Worlds first started it was nice now it's as bad as Yahoo people are stalkers and meaner than hell. I just asked a question someone said " weirdo weren't you just complaining about deleting your profile ". I'm not that person I don't know who they're talking about it seems like young female users like to stalk me i feel like they're hitting on me sorry ladies I'm taken. Because it seems like I'm only getting mean answers from young female users. I keep deleting they're users but they keep coming back I tried blocking and reporting some I guess this place is turning into Yahoo where I have block everyone who gives me a mean answer. Nobody takes these sites seriously anymore they just like to come on here for laughs and trolling. Why does nobody take the internet seriously anymore ? Why does Similar Worlds have so many mean users anymore and why is it mostly females ?

I've seen both sexes on here act mean, been stalked and had horrible and unjust things said to me. But that is a very tiny percentage of people. Most are decent though.

If I see posts with an aggressive or rude tone or a troll-like username
I avoid that person.

If I dislike someone's response to one of my posts I'll usually either answer politely or ignore them. Occasionally, if I think someone can handle it without taking offence, I might argue an issue. Or put in a plea for an alternative viewpoint.

I block anyone who behaves really badly - and have never once seen that person reappear. So I'm not sure why blocking hasn't worked here for you.

I have also noticed this.

Perhpas part of the issue is the difference in how EP and SW are formatted. In EP (if I'm remembering correctly) new threads / topics were only immediately visible to members who followed / were a member of that particular group (i.e. people who weren't interested in something were unlikely to see it); whereas in SW all new threads / topics are immediately visible to everyone.

The members of SW are much more hostile and unkind than it was at the beginning. I believe it鈥檚 the general change in culture, not the site itself. People are less tolerant, and become offended at the most innocuous things, these days.
