Having a hard time processing this.

My mom had recently told me that I wasn't planned. She said I was a "happy accident." I know that she mentioned how she didn't plan on having kids in the past, so I thought that she changed her mind a while after meeting my dad. I've never been so wrong in my life. I honestly don't know how to deal with this information right now.

Of course you're having a hard time "processing" this bombshell discovery. It's not a matter of intellect .... like finding a way to rationalize or come up with a good reason to make this palatable. All your life you had the story in your mind of your place in the family....a place that was made for you because of intention.

It's hard to let that go....big hug to you....but you can do it.

By letting this go by whatever means it takes will allow you to appreciate instead the choice your mom made to keep you....to make the sacrifices it takes to raise a kid....and love it. Now that took 'intention' as well as courage!

At least it's a "happy" accident.
[c=#BF0080]I really don't think it's that big of deal.. my first wasn't planned either.. but that doesn't change anything. I love her regardless whether she was planned or not.. AND I'm glad 'she happened'. [/c]

I wasn't planned either and it seems like your folks raised you with love and care so I hope it does not cause you any grief.
