What has been one of the most difficult things to unlearn as you've aged?

That confidence is a sign of arrogance. I was taught to be humble and that included having no confidence, probably from growing up in a religious household and one where the women are treated more like cattle. It made me very meek.I'm trying to reteach myself the difference and I have a lot more confidence and can get things done better than I used to as a result.

The idea that my happiness depends on companionship.

Mainly, that most decisions [b]are[/b] mine to make, as an adult. If something’s going to get done, [b]I[/b] have to initiate it.
