She's a lady, she's got time
Brush back your hair and let me get to know your face
helenS · 36-40, F
@TheThinker isn't it "let me get to know your flesh"?
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
@TheThinker Oh YES!👍️🍻

@helenS That's the next couplet:

"She's a lady, she is mine
Oh, brush back your hair and let me get to know your flesh"

Tbh I never liked that line, especially the creepy way he sings "flesh".

Wonderful song though, and far too many years since I heard it.

@TheThinker Ah yesss! It's in the next part.
The song is about an old man and a very young girl, so I would expect some creepiness in the lyrics.

@TheThinker In "my unbiased" opinion it is perfect,because of it being about a deviant spirit.Whatever,it is delicious 🍽️🙂

@helenS @pedrohedgerow
Yes, I realise it's perfectly appropriate for the theme, it's my problem really!

@pedrohedgerow The last part of the song ("She's a lady...") is incredibly brilliant. Climactic. The interplay between Peter's voice and Mr. Collins' drumming is excellent. The chord sequence played by the keyboardist is also wonderful. This is a very good piece of music.

@helenS I think for me it's the organ chord progression that starts just before "I've been waiting here for so long" that does it for me... sends the hairs up on the back of my neck every time.
