Yes life goes on

So I have my friend call me tonight, I knew something was off with him in voice immediately. At first he gave little, I know in shock, and I tried to make him comfortable with humour and deep meaning. Both of those come relatively easy when you know a person for 20+ years. His aunt and Uncle were in a car crash tonight, he's the next closest of kin where this happened. His Uncle passed he always looked up to, his aunt in care.

Grief sucks... I knew the moment, he sounded not like himself, like he was scared to say.

@SW-User thank you, I feel for him right now I know who is driving. How I found out when my father died was when I was driving. So many memories hit me, grief and trauma, are funny this way. I did what I could for him, shared things I'm sure I never had, some of that was just to keep him awake driving alone at a late hour, in shock, but also to create an idea, I love you friend

@SW-User Thank you, deeply. It's not comfortable with me, as it was only weeks before I visited my ex's father dying from terminal cancer. I didn't need tonight the reminder of how short life can be, where someone in me I do recognize no matter how sad, it lets me accept in enduring hard news that I cant change.

@SW-User trying is good. You won't realise how it is enough.. When the moments have passed with you trying and suddenly you find yourself on the other side of surviving.

@SW-User Thanks, I'm giving back what sometimes I didn't feel I received in grief. It's okay, all life is a leaf.
