Are lies really that bad?

those kind of lies for me are the worst kind of lies
sure they might shield you from the truth for a moment
but when they truth comes out ,and it usually does
not only are you hurt by the truth
but then you see how many were willing to keep it from you

I would rather my enemy put out my eye with a hot poker
than have someone I love lie to me ,then I can't trust them to tell me the truth anymore either ,,for then on ,I will always have doubt
are they lying to me just to protect me ,,or say things they think I want to hear
I will walk away from someone I deeply love over lying to me
I have had a life time of it ,it never saved me any pain
it only made me distrust people I loved

A simple lie like telling your girlfriend she looks great even though she was in bed all day is a painless little white lie.

Hitler promising not to invade Czechoslovakia is a bad lie

Yes, lies are bad.

They may stop the hurt...until the truth comes out. It will only hurt more in the end.

Those kinds of lies are bandaids. The wound is still there.

And plenty cause the needless suffering and worse of others.

Depends who's telling them.
