How was/is your parent's relationship and how do you think it affected you in your love life?

My dad's verbally abusive. I have to stop myself from being attracted to people that make me feel like shit

It was horrible! She was slapped around and beat up... he cheated on her... then they divorced.
she was codependent for years and years by me who where abusive to her as well...

My ass rolled far from the tree and will never stay w an abusive man. Though I dated around three times, I remained a single mother because I chose raising my kids before keeping a man.

My mother and I are so different.

My dad cheated and as a result my parents always fought and argued . It affected me because I learned not to trust others

My parents’ 61 year marriage has always appeared to be the model of a partnership between equals. An ideal almost too lofty to be achieved. They were lucky to find each other. It’s made me unwilling to settle for less, alas.
