So Volkswagen is laying off 30,000 people to make up for their lost lawsuit.

They can work for Ford and Apple, now that one is staying in the US, and the other is considering returning to the US.
If only Apple would actually pay some taxes. It's one thing to play the system and use the laws to your advantage. But when they get caught and the European Commission orders apple to pay 13 billion dollars in unpaid taxes to the Irish government... they've gone from playing the system to fraud.

All over ridiculously emission standards. I'm on the freeway every day in California and watch city bus', garbage trucks, semi trucks, etc. Belching plumes of black smoke. It's become a racket the emission thing, rife with hypocrisy and double standards. I'm up for a smog check which will cost me hundreds of dollars on an older vehicle that I've maybe driven 500 miles since my last smog check and runs just as well as it ever did. The jokes on us.

Do you know what the city I live in does when they lose a lawsuit? They send the police to set up roadblocks about once a week for maybe 6 weeks and rake in extra income for seat belt, insurance, and other violations...no joke. They've done it at least twice that I know of.

@cherokeepatti: Most lay offs will be in Germany,Argentina and another foreign country.
