Why do all my work “friends” turn out to be liabilities? 🙄

You need the relationships to get ahead but just not too close because they can just as easily bring you down...

Friends are for outside work frame. That's where the word colleague comes in place for office or work purpose.

I don't miss that. I used to work in a hospital and it was terrible for it.
@Starsandfire yep! It’s own little world of dysfunction 😂

Colleagues.. No friends in work just colleagues..
@ASLAN Yes I can understand that sentiment, but not always practical when you have been at the same workplace 10 years and I went to university with some of my coworkers 😊

@Notladylike true, but sometimes you'll to demote some of the friends to colleagues even if they're long time friends.. Work is about peace of mind.. If you'll become a liability and a pain in the ass then I'll have to cut u off.. Been there, don that.. Works like a charm 🤷‍♂️
A Bit cruel but it is what it is 🙂
Double edged characters are they?
@BeefySenpie Yes very. Get along great outside of work but weird political and throwing each under the bus can come in to play

Work is another dimension

Depends on the working environment I suppose. You can definitely be friends with the people you work with, but if it's a sales, dog eat dog, type of office, it's more likely to be a colleague /small friendship kind of atmosphere.
Can depend on environment, where you're from too. Are people generally open and friendly or reserved?
@HotPizza71 I work in health in a shift work environment so we live and breathe work, lots of couples here too
