Being new at work, how many times would you try to relate to an unfriendly coworker?

'relate to' isnt the word I'm looking for but I can't find a better one right now. Being new, I feel like you have to/should try to make yourself known, and mingle with the folks who have already been there years, as they have probably seen many new faces.

How many times would you try talking to unfriendly co-workers.

I still like my job and am so glad I have my own office. I get to pick how much social interaction I want

Not much. I give them a couple of chances. More than that and I'll kick their butt

I do not go out of my way for unfriendly or moody people. I will try to a point and then I will be cordial but certainly not interact with them so I have to look at their grumpy face. It ruins the office atmosphere and environment. Office moral suffers also.

@Keepitsimple right. I'm not going out of my way either. But I do need to at least try

Only once in the name of "teamwork" but she was a teen and still in that "snobby teen phase," so I just left her alone.
That happened to when I first started at my old job back in 2008. I decided not to let it distract me and just focused on work matters.

The sames go for school or anywhere else.
People are malignant abominations to be avoided.
