I have a few options on where I can work. Where should it be?
Bubbles · 36-40, F
honestly, the jobs are all probably similar in terms of "status'. Why not take the one with the best pay, and if the pay is comparable, why not take the one with the best hours?

Well though some very well meaning people have suggested it be somewhere that makes you happy ,,But to get a job you have to
!) have some type of experience or
2) they are willing to train you

Look for things you have experience in
or find someone who says "Willing to train "

And then the big one ,,Transportation ,can you get there
be on time ,,consistently
ready to work ,,even if other employees annoy you

I got my girls to go to college ,now they are nurses
Some states will help you go to school and there are "fast track training schools "
Get you ready for a state board ,,though some places do require 2 yrs of experience too
But once you have a PCA license you can always be a sitter
someone who is just a companion ,but also does light duty things ,,then you can say you have experience a CNA job around the corner
Then places like the VA will pay for you to go back to school to become a full RN and you only have to agree to give them 2 years ,,,not a bad trade for a job always in demand

whichever one makes you happiest
local restaraunt, you will be in a more flexible space, but have to learn more.
you might even talk to owner sometime

fast food is right cold and hard, and gives you little education in work

truck wash? only if you like being looked at "that way"

I'm gonna say truck wash cause I couldn't do fast food employment. No disrespect to anybody that do it. I commend you but I can't do it.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Restaurant can give you experience to wait tables at a nicer place for more money later on.

I say truck wash in bikini and great tips.
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@Idontknowlol my first wife's 3rd husband was a crack head
but he had seen my ex and my girls do car wash's to send kids without money to summer camp
So he asks Walmart to use their hose and water ,,even a bucket ,,"Its for the Church "
Gets 3 crack whores in bikini's and they rack up I hear .

Ex and her Mom are shopping and the manager asks how they did on the car wash ,seems since it was "for kids"
he added a contribution too ,if they had not met their goal he was willing to help more

He and his bikini babes spent that money on crack

yea that was the final straw ,,she is on #4 now LOL

@rckt148 Well money well spend haha
Peppa · 31-35, F
Anywhere you get to keep your own tips
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@Peppa you need experience to make tips unless its not your skills they are tipping
Those sound horrible for a young lady...

I have worked in local restuarants and fast food joints and to be honest its not the best job in the world and hours and money is crap in the uk all car and truck washes are run by foreigners here and money is crap so not a great choice .
BearDownChicago · 41-45, M
Fast food is just dirty but necessary. Restaurant similar. Hard work on your feet all day and have to deal with unhappy customers more.often than most places. Truck wash would be cool. I started off washing cars at a dealership. That was a lot of fun
gmatthewb · 51-55, M
Truck wash, I've been to a bunch of them. The workers have always seemed to be in good spirits and I've chatted with a few of the workers while the truck was being washed and the seem happy enough.
Hotelroom38 · 51-55, M
which one is closest?

I did a local diner type of thing early on, quite enjoyed it
HifromJim · M
I would rule out the truck wash, it depends onnthe pay rates for the other two.
Northerner · 70-79, M
Truck wash. Most truckers are good guys and generous.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
If you do the truck wash gig, will you wear a bikini to work?
