Do you start a job with an intention to work your way up to Management or do you just want to just stick to doing that job?

My intention was to pay the bills. The rest just kinda happened

@SW-User They must have seen a leader in you.

@iMystery or perhaps each line manager just wanted me out their dept so foisted me onto the next poor unsuspecting bugger

@SW-User 🤣

When i was young i was ambitious.

You soon learn though that each workplace has it's own culture. And if it's not skillfully managed you can find yourself at loggerheads with colleagues who think nothing of the work and everything of favourtism from the management.

Good to have a plan if you're young.
Some idea of where you want to be and how to get there.
But for many of us, these days it's about being able to keep a roof over your head and the Baliff away !

@Picklebobble2 Absolutely true.
😬 just sorta get pushed into these rolls
iMystery · M
@Teggy I would say its because leadership potential must have been seen in you.
@iMystery 😅 every job except for my first one
iMystery · M
@Teggy 😅 That is not uncommon.

I'm a manager now, worked hard to get here. I will say, though, that some days it sucks to tell people what to do.

@Newfound Its great that hard work gets recognized and results in promotion.

These days I see many lazy asses being promoted over top performing people 🙄
