It's not. Some would turn that into a career, some would play in tournaments, and some would play because they're bored. I think we're all childish when it comes to gaming, and that is pretty much ok. It means you're not growing old and being miserable. Moral of this is, don't let anyone change based on your passion for gaming. I have passion for this.
These days, if a famous movie star walks in the room, people will not even care. But, if one of these YouTubers walk in they instantly become in awe of them.
@xSiFiGamer2016x Holy crap it's true. Like my kid was captain America for Halloween multiple times and loved the Captain America movie but he would not recognize Chris Evans. But when Dan TDM (The Diamond Minecart) entered the Hunger Games Minecraft server he was playing on he lost his shit being totally star struck.
He was so excited that Dan TDM was recording and that he might actually be in an episode of his favorite YouTube video game series.
