Do you service your vehicle, or do you have someone else do it?

tnjazz · 70-79, M
Most cars today are computers on wheels and I can't do squat with a computer, so I let someone else do it

I can work on my 99 Corrola, but I leave the Frontier to the dealer to take care of. At least while it's still under warranty
@tnjazz: I've also inherited a 1974 Corvette. Unfortunately, the last owner let his son drive it, and now it's sad. It runs well, but there are countless issues.

Sounds like a money pit

I am not mechanically inclined, in practice, so I have a mechanic do it. However, I can conceptualize the procedures, just never learned to deal with working on my vehicles.

That's very cool that he was able to teach you. I admire people who have the skills, patience, and self reliance to tackle a problem with a vehicle.
@toddr13: I'm sure it was hard with a rotten kid like me.

@Cambion: LOL. Yes, but I am sure it gave your dad great joy to teach you.
My dad always does it for me. :-)
I remember my dad teaching me when I was young. I enjoyed it, still do.
@Cambion: Sounds like a sweet memory--i'll have to ask my pops to show me the ropes.
@tiffanyandasaltshaker: You should, at least just the basics. I think you'll both enjoy it.
I have to have someone else do it. I'm very ignorant when it comes to cars.
