SOUTH AFRICA... No missles coming our way, No terrorist explosions (that I can recall), Very VERY rarely do we have natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes (dont think we ever had one), tsunami's, volcano erruptions...
Despite our corrupt politicians (which country doesn't have those 馃檮), I'd say we are pretty damn lucky.

Ask anyone from SA if we have slums "virtually everywhere" and hear what THEY have to say.
Do not be fooled by what you see in videos unless you have actually physically visited the place to see for yourself.
Yes there are slums in some areas... also called "Informal Settlements", but the MAJORITY of places are NOT informal settlements and rather quite nice.
Anyhow... the fact that we South African's have to survive a high crime rate on daily basis in certain areas... just makes us so much stronger emotionally and mentally, because we still have a braai and some dop EVEN IF there may be occasional gun shots going off somewhere... it takes alot to make a South African shiver in his panties 馃槀.
You know why terrorists don't really try their luck over here? Because they know the civilians themselves will ensure they get their bombs stuck up their own asses before it gets a chance to detonate and kill others. No need to wait for cops or the army to step in.
