I Love Nature

[c=#000000]This bridge is called the Five-Span Stone Bridge. It's one of the seven wonders of Lanark County on the Mississippi River in Pakenham, ON. Built in 1901 by O'Toole and Keating of Ottawa from a local quarried stone, the largest block weighing in @ 5 tonnes. It's the only one of its kind in North America. It was built to withstand the pressure of the ice flows and the high water levels of the Mississippi. I feel fortunate to live in an area steeped so rich in history.[/c]
