I Love Nature

Fireflies in Summertime are MAGIC.
Yes, I know all about the science of these bioluminescent insects but that really doesn't matter much to me anymore. Because any living creatures that can melt away all the stress, turmoil and aggravation of normal daily life just by doing what they do- dancing and sparking silently around me on a warm starlit night- can, of course, only be magic.
It's a beautiful feeling to be able to enjoy the serenity that nature can help create around us. Mine comes from birds. I live 27 miles from the nearest city in a remote location. Feeding and giving water to them everyday has attracted hundreds in the trees that surround my home. I'm awakened each morning by different songs from them. I would never give this lifestyle up for sirens, commute traffic, etc.
@RenaissanceMan It's really true, isn't it. We live in a world with millions and millions of people trying to find themselves and happiness through mood altering drugs and expensive toys, when all they need to do is get back in touch with the natural things man has somehow lost along his way to the 21st century.
@robingoodfellow Books and nature decrease the desire to work for someone. A scientific fact. Those who rule know this. Give them technology and the enjoyment of both disappears. But for everything technology gives us, it takes twice as much away. Part of the problem begins with public education. It does not educate...only indoctrinate. Nature heals the mind and body. It's the complete library on how to live. No wonder research has shown that indigenous people...like in a rainforest, are the happiest people in the world. No electricity, no running water, etc. Yet, everyone has food and shelter at the end of the day. And we call THEM primitive. Concrete jungles were not meant to be lived in. Consider what Rockefeller said in 1906: We will build them cities, and they will have the freedom to leave work and go home, but return to work for us every morning for most of their lives, yet own nothing...we will(Banks).
