Do you remember the muddy school cross country?

All lined up barefoot and ready to run!

Never barefoot and once out of site of the school it became a cross country stroll-timing arrival back at school for the end of the lesson.Now in the UK teachers have to go with you if are going off the campus-but not in the 70s.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales It was a cross-country skive in our case. A couple of teachers came along but they couldn't watch the whole route.

No, and I was a cross-country runner running along the Santa Anna riverbed in highschool.

I grew up in New York City....cross country runs were done mainly on concrete and asphalt.
