how does everyone feel about the whole kneeling issue?

are they doing it to bring attention to a bad situation? are they being babies? do they know what they are doing?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
They need to cut the shit...they need to stand up and put their hand over their chest and respect the country and the people who risk their lives for it. It’s a bunch of BS. I won’t watch a single game this year.
@Greenbare there is no such thing as a liberal racist. you are un American. you don't believe in freedom of speech unless it is yours.
@SW-User you troll everyone that doesn't kiss your racist ignorant behind
@Greenbare OMG!how many black serial killers can you name? the one i can think of is doing time for a white supremacist group in Florida
They're just begging for attention, really. It's not like disrespecting the country has any effect on police brutality…
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
its a peaceful non violent protest about an issue they feel strongly about. if its not kneeling then i suppose they should go back to riots n burning down a part of there town.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@NeloAngelo there is nothing peaceful about it. It’s disrespectful! And riots and fires are only because people have no self control and can’t control their temper.
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@Keepitsimple disrespectful to who? i don't see why everyone is throwing such a hissy fit over it. during a game i'm still getting snacks ready for everyone watching the game to bother.
@Keepitsimple how is it not peaceful...?what would you call peaceful?

@Greenbare ahahahaha 😂😂😂

mountains out of molehills.

What's odd to me is how kneeling is often used as a form of highest respect and supplication. If we think of how one may kneel or genuflect before religious leaders and royalty... to quote GoT "bend the knee" lol
@Socialclutz so you are one of those "my country right or wrong " people right? not me. this is the land of the free and it is our duty and right to balk if our country screws up.
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
I'm not making a statement about my country. I'm simply stating the traditional norm for the country. You said kneeling was a sign of respect historically. Rather than looking for a fight please interpret everything
@Socialclutz that was Salix 75, i just thought it was an interest point

You insulting racist! Toodles quit stirring the 💩 Bunny! Obama has already stirred it enough 😁
@SW-User i thought you would want to see an actual picture of me and not an ad like yours.😝
SW-User
@LILY61 Oh Bunny Brain, have you lost your loving mind? I have to give it to you ....I laughed out loud and am still laughing ! 😂 you go girl... he/she/it.. 😘
@SW-User "talk to the hand?" you really are out of touch.Obama is not a traitor. but you probably believe that all non-republicans are traitors. you sad, twisted sister-boy...and you were the one who started mud flinging and threatening me until i blocked you a bit ago and now you are back at it.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I haven't paid much attention to it. I don't follow what a bunch of overpaid jocks do. I don't even own a TV.
BlueRain · F
I wouldn’t watch football now if someone paid me.
SW-User
Amen @BlueRain
BlueRain · F
@LILY61 I lost all respect
Newandimproved · 61-69, M
it's not the appropriate venue to voice your political concerns.

then again, I don't think the National Anthem should be played at an entertainment event. yeah, yeah, I know, it's something done for decades.

so it's played at sporting events - what's next. before a movie in a theater? how about before the school play, maybe before prom?

how about using it for important governmental functions instead.

of course the owners would be committing suicide by just not playing it any more - they would be accused of being cowards and unpatriotic
@Newandimproved then when can a football player show his disapproval concerning the lack of attention for the blacks being killed by white police officers?
Newandimproved · 61-69, M
wait, are you telling me that is his only venue?

how about they exercise their free speech? get booked on talk shows, how about spending their money for public service announcements, or helping pay the legal expenses of the families that are suing the police departments.

and I take exception to your phrase "blacks being killed by white police officers"

I think that we should be incensed and demand accountability for any shooting or other use of force (lethal or not) that has been deemed excessive - re-freaking-gardless of the race/sex of the cop or the person that is shot/injured.

I won't argue that blacks are disproportionally shot by white officers

BUT to ONLY look them allows non-whites a free pass.

So EVERY use of force needs to be looked at - the bad seeds that need to go, need to go.
@Newandimproved not many football players go on talk shows. it is always the same few and they always stay on the sidelines. and this is a non-verbal and non-violent form. i like it

Why do all these people care if a guy kneels or sits down or stands or whatever

It's like, chill, you do you and they'll do them buddyboo
SW-User
@NorthernRoses We care because in our country, it is a sign of respect for many who have sacrificed.
msros · F
I only make a guy kneel when I am knighting him with my sword.
SW-User
Not a fan of it.
SW-User
@LILY61 When the anthem is played at any event, I believe in standing for it always.
@SW-User so you think they are using the wrong forum? or you don't want to hear about it at all?
SW-User
@LILY61 Yes, I think it is the wrong platform. Everyone forgets that these guys are paid athletes, and paid very well to do a job. They are to represent their organization and boss/owner, not go to work to protest one's own personal beliefs. Not many of us can take our agenda to the work place and not fall unto circumstances...it's real life, or business.

I am all for peaceful protests for whatever, but do it on your own time and back it with actual actions to further help whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish. Talk and in this case (kneeling) is cheap.
Poppies · 61-69, F
They think they are doing good. But nothing that happens on a football field either before or during the game deserves anywhere near the thought we should be giving to Puerto Rico, North Korea, the environment, jobs and healthcare.
Graciebaby · F
Turning their backs would make a whole lot more sense and would have greater impact.
SW-User
Kneeling is a sign of giving yourself up, like surrendering to control.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I don't care,I just want to see the game.
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
Honestly I just don't care anymore.
SW-User
Brats Bunny... just ungrateful brats!
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
kneeling on rice is a punishment
Poppies · 61-69, F
They are trying to bring attention to an issue and they are succeeding.
In my opinion observance of the symbols of patriotism is less important than showing love of country by trying to make it the best country it can be.
