It's be nice if some people used this site for more than just pushing political agendas.

I agree, this isn't the place for it.
It's important, but not something to dedicate yourself to.
It's very important

They aren't fun opinions and only really exist to piss someone off, I'm ok with someone making "a" post about what they think, but if their profile is dedicated to the subject...

OMG! Yes! There are days I just give up on scrolling through the home feed because people keep posting that shit 🙄

But the site is about finding people of like mind and like interests, isn't it? If that is what they are here for, why is it an issue?

In fact, it is easier if that is all their profile is. If it isn't what you want to hear and that is all they are, then mute them.

@MLGecko: Still though, a lot of the time it feels like they want to start some shit, there's never a political post asking for a decent discussion, it's always "Fuck Bernie/Hillary/Trump"

Hate, never an intellectual discussion...I'd accept it if that were the case, if it were clean.

But no, then those same people post about how toxic this site is :/

@Fangirlsarah1996: Well, yeah. I have tried to have a conversation against and it usually results in, first, a delete of my comment and then a block. Lol. You are right that people who like to be heard usually have a very difficult time hearing others.
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@MLGecko: Agreed, they argue FOR freedom of speech yet they take with the other hand.

The only times I'll remove someones comment from one of my posts is if I/others find it highly offensive...otherwise I like there to be a diversity in opinion, I could've quite as easily not put an option to say "It's Important" if I wanted...to push my own agenda.
@Fangirlsarah1996: exactly why I haven't logged into mine in months, I can understand some but everyday, hourly in some cases? Like dude we know already!

@DancingStarGoddess: Twitter has quickly become the New Jersey of the internet...the uh garbage part of New Jersey

Garbage opinions that nobody wants to hear, sprinkled with gold to make them look pretty.
@Fangirlsarah1996: yup, exactly

I think it is important to discuss things though, I mean yes, some people do just post with the intention of being a dick to those who oppose they're view, but essentially political discussion is needed.
@NocturnalNomad: I can count on one hand the number of actual political discussions I've seen here. Most of it is arguing and name calling.
WorldlyWoes · 36-40, M
@AcidBurn: Haha, yeah, it's hard to not be passionate about these things though, especially when everything is so crazy.
@NocturnalNomad: That's true. But a lot of the craziness is being manufactured by all the hype and arguing. I've also noticed that the most "passionate" usually tend to be the most uninformed and closed minded in the group.

I'm not a big fan of profiles dedicated to any single topic, political or sexual or anything. But I have nothing against people holding passionate positions. I certainly hold a few!

The politics is ok but it's not okay when they can't do it without insulting each other and getting abusive..it's pathetic..
