Eh, in a lot of cases people only ask them because it's been sort of socially programmed. You'll notice the answers are very rarely genuine or detailed or anything.

I am pretty much the same. When I meet new people, they STORM questions at me, "where r u from? how many siblings? what does your mom do? what does your dad do?" etc....like...how come I'm not interested in INVADING their life in the first conversation. It makes me kinda not like them, esp if they don't tell about themselves before they hail storm all those inquiries into my face. It's rude. But why I think it's not okay for me to feel like this is because majority does NOT feel like this...like I didn't know what my friends' parents did even though I lived in a hostel with them. They never told, and I never asked. I just assumed they aren't comfortable sharing their life with me and I didn't mean to make them feel uncomfortable.

Sounds like pretty normal introverted behaviour to me
