People that say to me 'Don't forget me when you make it'

Will you forget me if I don't?

Almost everyone who has something they're visibly working towards must have heard that line. But I think that people only care about you when you're successful. What do you think?

Your friends will always be your friends. Life moves on and people change. If they can't call you friend, regardless of your life position, they never really were your friends. I would take the " don't forget me when you make it" as someone who not wants something from your success, but someone who truly cares about you and will miss you when you are too busy with 'life' to think of them.
But right, there are always the assholes who only want something too. I would hope you knew which ones those were without question.

They may. But shouldn't. Only the shallow minded will. We're all equally important in this life.

That is not 100% true. I have been both successful and not so much. The only friends I have are the ones who are still there that were my true friends before I was successful. Who I thought were my friends before were there until the money ran out. That includes family. But I am not sure that success has anything to do with it. ;)

100% that's why a friend is that person that help you out when you seem not to be able to make it alone.... Everyone else is just people

Very few in this world are able to truly care about another, most are wrapped up in themselves.
