how easy is it to make internet friends and keep internet friends?

Like with all relations it should be a two way street however most are dishonest and selfish even though they manage a list of possible excuses not to maintain the bond. My experience is that most just abuse online contacts when they feel bored and lonely and for some hidden agendas. It can never be a good thing if you feel you need to walk on your toes to keep someone around.
