Did you went to lawyer before, how much you paid him?

I don't recall. But it depends on the work they do. In my situation, My mother had passed. As I was her care giver, And before my father died his will left the house to her. I became her care-giver, and then the house became mine. So it was a matter of transfer deed.
If you have a lawyer in mind it would depend on your need and the purpose.
Phone the office to see. He/she possibly can work with you.
It all depends on what they have to do.
ie divorce, is this their specialty? Or is it property? See there are those who specialize. Ask friends or coworkers. In case of a mutual divorce, the settlement depends on if one of the party not agreeing to.
If it's not going to court, it's going to be quite less.

*my assumptions, I am not connected to or with an attorney.

You may not get what you pay for but you will have to pay for what you get.

@MrBrownstone: First, be absolutely certain you didn't sign anything your ex-boss can prove you didn't deserve it. Remember that you were always on time no errors. Some cases the lawyer might sue HIS boss.
